Keeping my kids active is something I'm very passionate about. Since my daughter could walk she was making up dance moves, leaping across the living room and twirling her way around the park. As she got older, she started asking to be in ballet class. In Colorado, where we lived, there wasn't a studio that was close enough to us so I always had this guilty feeling in my heart, like I wasn't doing what I needed to fulfill her needs and help her attain her goals.
That all changed when we moved to Allendale. In the first conversation I had with our new neighbor, she raved about Lake Michigan Dance Academy and how much her own daughter loved it. I knew, at that time, that it was worth looking at.
Fast forward six months and my daughter was shopping for ballet slippers. The day after her first practice was incredible. To see the joy on her face, the moves she learned (though, just basics, she was delighted) and the fun she had was worth every moment spent waiting. She went on and on (and on and on) about her teacher and how great she was, how she made new friends and how she couldn't wait to go back.
The summer class went by fast and I was sure to enroll her into fall sessions - but this time, for hip hop class, too.
So, Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons, we're at Lake Michigan Dance Academy. As a mom, I'm able to sit in the lobby and watch her in class on their big screens while chatting with other moms in the lobby.
Attending Lake Michigan Dance Academy has been great for not only my daughter but for myself, too.
If you're looking for a place to keep your children active, engaged and learning new skills, I highly recommend enrolling them into dance classes. Plus, they have something for any age from toddlers to adults. What's even better, is they offer a free trial class so you can 'try before you buy'!
