Polish Sausage and Sauerkraut
Ingredients:
2-3 packs of polish sausage
1 large onion
1 bag (or jar) of sauerkraut
Garlic powder
Black pepper
Mashed Potatoes (you can use instant, or make from scratch, depending on time and your mood)
The Prep:
Slice sauce into 1" (bite size) pieces, brown in pan
Slice onion and add to sausage after about 10 minutes of browning
Let cook together for about 5-7 minutes
DRAIN the kraut
Add to pan of sausage and let cook together for 15-20 minutes, you want to liquid to cook away
Add a dash or garlic powder and pepper
Variations:
I add hemp hearts in the last 2 minutes of cooking for extra protein
Serve:
Serve together on the same plate with a pickle slice and mustard or horseradish
